’Same Degree, Different Story: PhD Pub Quiz & Panel Discussion

As part of the Becoming Adults in a Changing World community at Utrecht University, we organized an evening dedicated to the PhD experience, combining a pub quiz on the history and global differences of doctoral education with a panel discussion featuring PhD candidates and early-career researchers.

I moderated the discussion panel, which explored topics such as personal and professional development during the PhD, the future of doctoral training, the importance of supervision, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance in academia. The discussion led to many honest and insightful exchanges about the realities of academic life today.
